Hi, everyone,

I tried posting earlier twice, but it didn't work, so
here goes again. I'm new to the list, just joined last
week. I've been doing spiritual practice for many
years, but just recently started teaching. About the
same time, I developed this huge lower back pain. I
couldn't tell what it was and it moved sides.

At first I tried physical means, heat, ibuprofen, but
it didn't help. For a few days I could barely walk.
Then I thought maybe I was picking up a student, but
it was clear it was mine. We were doing chakra work in
class so I started doing some lower chakra work and it
really helped, but would come back although not as
painful. I began to suspect it was kundalini
awakening. I kept doing chakra work, and it began to
really take off with "new" symptoms, heat, buzzing,
shaking, light, etc. I realized I had no clue what to
expect and was feeling a little lost and alone, though
thrilled.

One day last week I went to buy this Buddha statue I
had seen in a shop window. Afterwards, I decided to
pop into this little occult bookstore. As soon as I
walked in my crown chakra was sparking like mad. I
checked my bag and went back to the front of the
store. Right there on the corner of the table was Gopi
Krishna's Kundalini. I picked it up and could not,
literally, could not put it down. I tried. My arm
wouldn't move. I even tried setting it down while
looking at other books and I couldn't even do that.

Of course, I bought it. (Oddly, (?) the only reason I
could afford it was because the hardware store ran out
of the paint I wanted that day). As I left, I felt
totally buzzing and half out of my body. I passed a
gorgeous friendly dog who let me pet her and a plant
store, where I went in and breathed deep and touched
leaves. This really helped to ground me. (It wasn't
intentional, but it worked!)

I read the book in one day. It helped to explain some
things and made me feel less alone. But I wanted to
find some living people experiencing or having
experienced this amazing thing.

Now, the pain is mostly gone, but I have other
symptoms which intensify if I'm involved in anything
related to spirit and fade if I'm not. Right not I'm
having tingly coldness and waves. My eyes are really
sensitive. If I'm still for a while, it comes back in
strong waves, sometimes I feel I could pass out. It's
wonderful and scary.

I'm not sure if this is appropriate to ask, but I'm
going to. I live in the Bay Area and am interested in
talking to people in person as well as online. I'm not
looking for a teacher, but for a supportive friendly
sort of thing. Talk over tea sort of thing.

Peace and light,
Paula
