I have felt that it was not necessarily a sinister thing, although in some
dreams they have been menacing. And I have had some of the dream spiders be
very delicate and beautiful. I read a book last summer called The Relucant
Shaman in which there was a lot of discussion of the web of existence; I
wondered then if my spiders were about that! Also, I am a writer, and I've
read that spiders can have to do with writing, or weavers of words.

Dear Isis, Shelle, Dear Friends,

Spiders are the 13th sign of the zodiac (Arachnid)
The web is clean and an old remedy in the field
is to put a spiders web on an open (cleaned wound).
The weaving and building capacity
makes a spider a natural 'Great Architect' or Godly creator
symbol.
The 8 limbs correspond to the 8 limbs of Buddhism
and spiders are often allowed undisturbed spinning
in temple areas.
The ups and downs and capacity to continue
when ones web is broken has inspired kings
on the run.
A spider saved the life of the Prophet Mohamad
by weaving a web over a cave where he was hiding
- thus those seeking him did not enter
knowing the web would have to be broke on entering . . .
they passed by.
Spiders weave necklaces of dew that capture the
rainbow . . .
So remember for every blood drained butterfly
there is the beauty of the spider
and for every butterfly a worm (caterpillar)
eating its way to life . . .
