My understanding of Buddhism is that it is the senses that that give us the
material world by manifesting energy into matter. These senses trigger an
emotional response to the stimuli. these emotional responses are baggage
accumulated since childhood and determine the results of the energy
manifestation via the thoughts that are produced from previous experience.
This predetermines the outcome. KARMA
If you shut down the senses ..ie no emotional response .... you don't
manifest the energy into matter and then you have a continuously open portal
thru the energy to the other side because it hasn't been turned into matter
by your mind.
One of the messages from the Buddhist Nun was "be in the moment" this is
because if you are truely in the moment ( not yesterday and not tomorrow )
then you have not predetermined an outcome because of past experience and
memories ...you are free to create ...... no longer bound by the senses
which hold us to this plane.

make sense ?
not to sense

without the eyes Quote--- look to the source of your sight.... not the
objects that fill your sight, not to the sight itself... but to where that
sight comes from" Venerable Tenzin Palmo
