Welcome to the K list!  The energy certainly can make changes in facial  
features.  I've found that my expressions relaxed considerably after K  
awakening.  Heat is, of course, a common feature of the Kundalini process.   
Some feel it more strongly than others.  For me it always accompanies a  
particularly strong surge of energy.  It has never been so strong as to be  
uncomfortable, though, as was the case of Gopi Krishna, who felt it painfully  
for years.  I see it as neither very positive or negative--just one of the  
"symptoms" of K.  (although I tend to like to think of it as curative.)

Well, I think all religious traditions are based originally on Kundalini  
experiences.  Perhaps you are trying too hard to find a "fit" with your own  
experiences.
