Hi Hilary:

I feel that I am unusually healthy for my age, even
though I am about 30 pounds overweight right now. I
just had a checkup (November) to make sure because I
was feeling severe heart pains on and off and could
not tell if they were a sign of clinical illness or
k-related symptoms. My test results were those of a
very young person with one exception. My blood
pressure is very low, levels of healthy fats are at
really good levels, levels of unhealthy fats are lower
than normal, triglycerides well below normal.
My doctor said whatever I was doing, to keep doing it.
I do have trouble with not feeling things on my
skin--a very common side effect of k fire. This
numbness has been around, progressively since I turned
19. It fluctuates with stress.
I have also been diagnosed as suffering from
post-traumatic stress disorder and spent a couple of
years in therapy and a group. The diagnosis was made
after I became severely clinically depressed. I can't
say enough for medications like Zoloft that have
helped me through two such depressions. There's good
reason for the PTSD diagnosis but that is all part of
my past. I still sometimes get into trouble but I
usually have a bad 24 hours to a week and then I'm
over it without any medication. I think that basically
as a result of my work with the list Mystress that I'm
unlikely to go back to where I was when I joined the
list...

> Have you been diagnosed with any illness(es)?
I was diagnosed as having MS at 26. Do I have it? No.
The neuropathy is still present. The loss of reflexes
reversed completely. I sometimes don't hit things I'm
reaching for right or I stumble easily when I'm very
stressed but that is about it. I do have food
allergies, whose effect differs according to stress
levels. Peanuts make me very ill-heart arrythmia and
inability to move around.

After, as far as I can tell.

> Do you meditate?
I go into altered states on and off every day and
night. I just slip sideways, for want of a better
description. I don't set aside a special time any
more. I do love being in my car driving with beautiful
music playing because I go into an altered state
immediately. I know at once when I'm not grounded
because then I feel fear.

This list is a marvellous place...although I felt that
Lobster was most unkind recently when he referred to
many of us on the list as being mentally ill. I've
been there and done that. Most saints are crazy
anyway.
Love, Lesley
