Holly,

I totally agree with you. I really wish I could live this "beginner's
mind" all the time. Live completely in the present, in freedom.
Always learn, always travel.

I believe humanity made a major mistake when it abandoned the happy-
go-lucky hunter-gatherer lifestyle and started agriculture. With
agriculture came a lot of evils associated with possession.
Possession of land, possesion of women, division of labour,
domestication of animals, etc. etc.

Our complex modern sedentary lifestyle is destroying my creativity,
my sense of happiness, my need for random spontaneity.

Foragers work an average of 15 hours a week to hunt/gather food. The
rest of the time is spent playing games, chatting, making love, being
lazy, having fun, etc.

I wonder if I should go join a hunter-gatherer tribe somewhere in
Africa..... the culture shock would be enormous, but maybe i'd be
happier to live that way. who knows.

PS: i hope my posts are not too off-topic.
