A Wish And A Grin

my little wish for the coming year
for each little day
is simple

my wish for the breaking dawn
for the shortest night
is small

my wish for the time of children
the folk of all ages
is sweet

my wish is for love and understanding
be given freely to all from all
every day

i do not know if my little wish
will someday come true, but
it could

there is more love than can be known
almost too much to bear alone
so share
