No. I'm the one that's consistently promoted cannibalism. : )

Eat *organic* whole grains. (breads, bagels, etc). If you walk down your super-market
aisle and buy something that says whole grain and it's not organic I can almost guarantee
it has a glycemic rating closer to table sugar than what you'd want. (they add sugar under
a host of other names). One organic brand I can vouch for is 'Alvardo St.'. Also, get
whole grain organic pasta as you will more than likely avoid the same pitfall.

Also, when you do eat carbs, eat the bulk of them earlier in the day rather than later.
You can create a 'time-release' effect (which is like lowering the glycemic rating) by
balancing them with healthy fat such as virgin, unprocessed oils. (virgin olive oil [good
omega-6 source] & organic flax oil [this will also address the epidemic omega-3
deficiency in American diets that is implicated in a host of degenerative
diseases and even depression]. You can also slow down absorption rate of carbs with fish or eggs.
I highly recommend eggs from vegetarian fed hens which yield less saturated fat. And of course
ionic-exchanged whey protein. I make a shake of this in distilled water, dry milk, flax oil & fruit.
Very delicious. You can get very creative with this stuff if you have a blender. (yogurt, cinnamon,
whatever). It's a very 'clean' protein that is more bio-available than any other protein and will
enhance immune function (among other things).

Protein with carbs will the give the insulin something
to do. The insulin will be busy shuttling protein into your cells rather than spiking up to high
levels. (BTW, this excess
insulin gets converted into fat if not used, which is why excessive carbs have more to do with obesity
than
eating even fat itself.) Fat from unprocessed oils, nuts (another good absorption regulator), fish
will not make people
over-fat.

Very smart. Try 400 mcg. (200 mcg morning & 2nd dose later in the day).
Alpha-lipoic acid is another fantastic supplement for regulating insulin (among
many other reasons to take).

You also want to eat small rations consistently. (nibble, nibble, nibble)

For sure, try some good whey protein.

Finally, exercise is perhaps the most powerful way to regulate insulin
and increase energy. When you do it you trigger a glycogen storing enzyme.
Right after you execise eat carbs with protein. Levels of this enzyme will be very high
and will immediately begin to shuttle the carbs (as glycogen) into muscle cells
(as opposed to being converted into fat). When your glycogen storage levels are up
you will notice that you feel great and energetic. It doesn't have to be intense excercise either.
Just consistent. Bare minimum is 5 days a week for 30 minutes. Doesn't have to
at one time either. Try walking or put on some funky music and dance, whatever.

If you have any other questions or want some clarification let me know. : )
