Hi gang,

As you know, I put up a small web site to anchor
a support group for people who've had spontaneous
awakenings while recovering from addictions.

Yesterday I wrote sort of a manifesto to give the
group identity. It's not a list of rules (yuk) or guidelines.
It's just seven general statements reflecting (hopefully)
the freedoms and aspirations of people who've had
a similar journey. It's written in 12 step type language.

It would be presumptuous of me to slap to manifesto
down a gospel for the group (Ravens and Doves), so
I tried to be as general as possible. I love to get some
opinions from the K list.

Anyway, here 'tis:

***************************************

- -Having had a transformative spiritual experience,
we find these suggested approaches to be progressive
and appropriate.

1. To consider with an open mind, all possible explanations
for extraordinary phenomenon, including those that may
challenge our beliefs.

2. With the same open mind, consider and respect Eastern,
Western, aboriginal, existential and all other approaches to
life and eternity.

3. As we gain a clearer definition of our Higher or Inner
Power, we find that understanding is based on perspective,
and as perspective changes with the seasons, so understanding
should grow and change alike.

4. We should never boast about our spontaneous awakenings,
become arrogant, elitist or proselytize religion or mysticism.
Our experiences are best shared quietly and only when
appropriate.

5. Recognizing our natural gifts and talents, we will do what
we can, when we can, with what we have to help others
heal and nurture those gifts in those around us.

6. We will be unafraid to explore, apply and develop
new directions for recovery without risking the well being
of those who still suffer.

7. As we reach for balance and a lifestyle of effortless
appropriate action, we will also let go, let our hair down
and express ourselves through innovative work,
unconditional love and the creative arts. In doing this
we can dance and stumble with grace, laughing at
ourselves as we take another step, humbly in the
miraculous presence of a dynamic, living universe.

Thanks for reading. If any K folk want to join the
list, your more than welcome. It's very quiet as
there's only ten people on it.

Wishing You All a Serendipitous Saturday Night,
