Dear Will,

The figure you are speaking of may be the Tibetan Paramasukha-Chakrasamavara
and his consort Vajravarahi (female wisdom) There are a couple of other
possibilities too.

"Paramasukha translates as Supreme Bliss and Chakrasamvara as Wheel
Integration. "

She is holding a vajra chopper.

"The Supreme Bliss Wheel Integration Tantra is considered the ultimate Mother
tantra, in that its literature has the most developed technology of
contemplative cultivation of the clear light of freedom."

"Here we see Shamvara in mystic union with his female aspect symbolizing the
blissful union of compassion and wisdom that is the actuality of
enlightenment." p. 315

The quotes are from Robert Thurman (Uma Thurman's father! :)) in *Wisdom and
Compassion the Sacred art of Tibet*

"As modern depth psychology has come to recognize, images like this
Paramasukha-Chakrasamvara represent the deepest archetypes of the
unconscious, integrating the powerful, instinctual energies of life into a
consciously sublimated and exalted state."

Welcome to the K-list! :))

Love, Hillary
