Subject: [K-list] cross posting other people's words
From: Nina

On 2001/10/17 10:18, Nina posted thus to the K-list: The following post was found on Nonduality Salon.

This raises some interesting questions.

Though Klist is by no means "intimate" and "private" and some might
argue that anything posted anywhere on the internet is free domain, I
question the ethics of taking another's words out of context and
posting them elsewhere. (Another part of me wonders: WHY?) I also
wonder if Susan was asked permission prior to this cross-posting. I
wonder about the fairness of putting Susan's words (and words that
make little sense without the very articulate context that surrounds
them) in a foreign context... where she is not around to explain,
defend, or even participate in discussion. (I suspect that Susan is
not a member of Nonduality Salon.)

On that note, I will copy Tony's post from Nonduality Salon and paste
it on Kundalini Gateway.

Namaste, Trendy when? Several hundred years ago?

Since the anthrax death on OCT.5. 470,000 people have died of
treatable infectious diseases in the third world, 1500 die every hour.
Some dozens of people have been exposed to anthrax, yet in the world
there are actually 2 billion people with TB. 10% will die of it.

Most of this happens in countries exploited by transnational
corporations, and is contributed to by the same companies and the
corrupt regimes they help prop up.

There was a black american lady on the BBC, World TV Service the
other
day, Brooke I think her name was, and artist or writer of some kind.
The anchor was asking her why Americans didn't know much about the
world, and why they would be surprised that someone would hate them
enough to perpetrate the WTC bombing.

She answered thus. First of all Americans are not really interested
in
the outside world, only 7-10% have passports. ' Americans are like a
woman living in a nice house, and she is well treated by her husband.
He treats her and her family very well and is just a loving father
and
husband, providing all the material comforts and opportunities.

One day her house is sprayed by drive by gunfire and this shocks and
terrifies her. She runs out into the street saying, 'who would do
this, why would they do this to us?'.

The neighbours answered. ' Didn't you know that your husband is Don
Corleone?' America is the Don.'

I thought that was an interesting analogy coming from an American.

If you don't think there is a spiritual dimension to this post then
you have missed the whole point of embodiment.

ONS........Tony.
