I also have to say I'm bound to be biased since spontaneous K awakening for
me has led to mental hospital and much illness/prolonged suicidal states.
The thought of adding fuel to the fire by doing meditation/yoga/drugs
intuitively filled me with horror, despite mixing with people who were doing
that all around me when I was younger.

I've read many accounts all giving different experiences - at the end of the
day it depends on the individual. I've read of people who have induced K -
and paid a terrible price. Others who have been OK. Who am I to deny the
desire to search for the divine via yoga or anything else. It's an
individual choice. I would simply urge great caution - the potential force
of K awakening can be devasting beyond the wildest imaginings.

Hi siska and others. I will pass this on to HarshaSatsangh as well. Your
urging of caution is supported by the literature on Kundalini Yoga.

All Yoga, directly or indirectly is Kundalini Yoga. There is a lot written
on Yoga, some of it dating back several thousand years.

One aspect of the Shakti is the massive and overwhelming force of the
unconscious. In our ordinary state, the anxieties, fears, and uncertainties,
lie just below the surface of the individual sense of identity. In certain
types of Kundalini awakenings, the censorship mechanism that usually keeps
the unconscious at bay thins out too quickly. This can result in tremendous
and persistent unexplained anxiety and a sense of doom and a variety of
physical issues and symptoms of mental illness can manifest as well. Much of
this has been documented in the Kundalini literature even by modern writers.
There are even medical doctors and psychologist who have become aware of
this phenomena and you can find their books easily by doing a search
perhaps.

The best situation in most cases is to be around kind and gentle people who
know something about these things and have direct first hand knowledge of
Kundalini. There are probably a few in every spiritual community. One also
has to experiment to see which what blend of diet and liquids are suitable.
Drinking water is always a good idea. Taking walks with deep rhythmic
breathing is helpful. Ultimately and over a long time period, there is
automatic and gradual assimilation of unconscious contents into the
conscious and one adapts.

Love to all
Harsha
