If Jerry was reading, then he would have read about a huge number of peoples
around the globe who feel strongly that the US is and has been a meddling
bully through its foreign policy decisions for a very long time. I also read
that the general sentiment throughout the populations of the middle east and
especially fundamental Islam consider bin Laden's actions nearly saintly,
based on this same reason of US bullying and interferance.
It also stands to reason, if a person is aware of this sentiment, that they
would be more reluctant to view warlike retaliation as as a best option,
considering those actions would even further manifest this sentiment. That is
the juncture that I felt Jerry had not been reading that he made the comments
that he did. Finally, since my post and yours, the UPI posted articles from
public officials with these same concerns.
As for my personal practical contributions toward the greater good in the
last several days, I have been posting these anti-violent / anti-war views
and issues alongside the hateful, angry and retaliatory "we want justice"
posts, sometimes minute by minute, on the public forums and nearly non-stop
since Tuesday. I swear I must have written these thoughts over and over
steady about 20 hours per day since then, hoping the energy would help
balance people's responses. Quite frankly, I came to the K-list for a rest
from those kind of bottom chakra processes.
As a result of my doings, I have been getting personal mail from Europe and
Asia and other world locations which substantiates the bully view and
expounds even more.
My opinion that judging and retaliating with the American label of justice
attached to it, is still basically a primitive act, compared to other, far
more enlightened options. Judging and justice can only take place by
seperating oneself from God/dess. As I said before, it would so many
incidents of US involvement outside our jurisdiction that caused fundamental
Islam, the backbone of sentiment behind the terrorist activities, to bring a
piece of what we have inflicted back to our shores in the first place. I dont
feel bombing is justified, since interpersonal military intelligence has a
better capacity to isolate individuals than bombs do.
I dont appreciate the reference to self-righteous just because I commented
that neither one of you seem to be acknowledging the many options and the
greater view for non-retaliatory non-violent action.
In fact, the only self-righteousness I saw was in these recent comments
directed to me for having opinions of my own, and did not seem to have much
differentiation from what I was dealing with on those general population
message boards.
