I'm new to this list, and although have not experienced the symptoms your
sister is going through, I've had equally dramatic stuff.

In brief, my K awoke sponteously over 21 years ago at age 16. The most
dramatic form it's taken has been through 6 (so far) extreme depressions -
each longer and worse than the one before, but with
enlightenment/growth/realisation of new capabilities equal in proportion to
the suffering each time. I've recently emerged from Number 6 - 12 months of
catatonic depression, unable to speak or move for weeks on end. My psych
file is pretty hefty, and though it's only been in recent years I've made
the connection between my 'funny stuff', and Kundalini, (and literally in
the last week I've discovered this incredible online network of sponteous
awakened people), intuition always told me the depressions were an integral
part of a long term natural healing/growth process.

There are resources on misdiagnosis of Kundalini, and in the next couple of
days I'll send a message detailing what I've come across. Awakening the
mental health system (I'm English incidentally - any other Brits out
there?!), to spiritual emergence is an issue I feel passionately about, and
am prepared to join with others and activate about.

Your sister will get through this, but will need a lot of constant
reassurance. She is lucky to have someone like you on hand to brief her on
what is really going on. I suffered for years completely on my own. A
total of four years spent in catatonic depression, and only my intuition to
bring me through it (and all the other stuff that has happened). But my
God's it's been worth it. I would not trade what I have now for all the tea
in China. It's GREAT to finally find a support network, even if it is a bit
late in the day for me!
