My experinence is to meditate as frequently as possible, and as this state  
becomes more and more familiar, you will be able to do this at will even in  
the worst environment/sensory input.  Particularly directed to your anxiety,  
it will eventually overcome this if you become so familiar with your  
meditative state that you can direct it at these specific times.  Eyes wide  
open and in any physical position, standing, sitting and even public  
speaking. So feel assured eventually you will have even more positive  
outcomes.  I am sure others will affirm what I am saying here on the list.
