Well, (ahem) l do hate to bring this up, but it seems the main thing
this Rinpoche is known for in many circles is the fact that he reocognized
both Catharine Burroughs ( the infamous Buddha from Brooklyn) and Stevan
Segal (known as the biggest asshole and low-life in Hollywood) as tulkus. The
recognition of Segal is widely believed to have been a quid pro quo in return
for a sizeable bribe, given the fact that he'd been openly looking for
recognition prior to meeting with Penor R and was known to be willing to do
anything to get it.
l confess to knowing
little else about Rinpoche, but his actions here were enough to indicate that
he's quite flawed. Do you have info regarding these 2 cases to indicate
otherwise? lf so, l'd honestly be interested in hearing it.
