Subject: [K-list] energy ?
From: Jmk

On 2001/07/19 22:31, Jmk posted thus to the K-list: Hello All,

I introduced myself a while ago, albeit under a
different address. So I won't go into an introduction
but do want to thank you. It's good to have all
you other Krazy folks here - and I mean that
in the most positive way. Reading about K is one thing,
seeing how it is dealt with day to day is another.

I'm going to a conference in the Canadian Rockies
next week. As a consultant (read unemployed and looking
for work, so broke it's scary, couldn't do this if they
weren't paying expenses), this is important. I got wired
from the amazing vibe of the place in February
and had way too much energy to function lucidly. By the end
of the stay I was practically babbling (well, not quite true but it
felt that way, more like super intense; people were
even commenting on my energy, positivly at least.) Barely slept.
I get so "open" ie energy like electric water, spinning chakras,
picking up people's emotions. Wouldn't mind in a monastary but it
doesn't seem to work well in the "real" world, perhaps as evidenced
by my (un)employment situation. I am fried and don't seek these
experiences but do welcome them.

This time I'm not only staying longer but speaking at
two different seminars. This level of energy doesn't
work when trying to talk without going off on tangents
or schmoozing for work. Can you suggest anything?
I do grounding meditations and will try again - didn't
really help the last time. All advice and guidance would be
much appreciated.

While I'm at it - could anyone suggest
Buddhist literature related to K awakening,
particularly Tibetan? There's so much available in
the Hindu tradition but I can't seem to find anything
specific in the Buddhist.

And now for something not quite that different: trying
anything to keep the energy down before this trip I
decided to forego the usual spiritual reading. Got
into Umberto Eco's "Foucault's Pendulum,"
the first fiction I have been able to concentrate on
since the big awakening. (Spoiler coming, don't continue
reading if you don't want to know one of the many
denouements.) What's the Holy Grail they are looking
for? The big K! 'Nuff said.

Thank you.
