Not all tribes. Some thought thunder was the god of drumming--they equated the sound with drums--Shango is a god of drumming and war.

As an anthropology student, it's uncomfortable to speak of "tribes people" because every tribe is different, with different fears, beliefs, rituals, etc.

In China, for example, thunderstorms were seen as the sky balancing it's chi.
