On 2001/06/28 11:07, kaleb thompson posted thus to the K-list: Wow, sounds like a really sexist view to me. I am male btw. It is a matter
of scientific fact that humans are all female (100% identical except for the
existance of that one Y chromo) until a certain age in the womb (a number of
months) where the 'wolfian' system kicks in, which is just a set of hormones
which develops the male genitalia. Keep in mind that the penis and the
clitoris are made up of the same exact tissue. So it is only a set of
hormones that makes the difference.
Spiritually speaking males and females possess all of the feeling
states that the opposite has, so I as a male can feel and experience all of
the female states, and any female can experience all of the male states of
being. I know this from both direct first hand experience (my kundalini
shakti has shown me hundreds of female feeling states time and time again as
I am very androgynous) and book learning. There is no difference whatsoever
in the kind of energies available to either sex, both sexes have access to
all forms.
As far as the explanation of why it seems that males are more often
spiritual leaders than females, and why there seems to be more males on a
spiritual path than females (this belief is generated from my life
experience and observations as well as book learning)...I can say alot about
my theories on that - but in short I believe that it is because males are
more often to be unhappy being who they are as a person and seek to change
that, whereas females tend to be more grounded and accepting of themselves.
Males are often tend to be interested in psychic powers (and any other kinds
of powers) than females...which is why males like action movies, superheros
etc. as kids, while the females tend to again be more grounded as far as
expectations of attainment which are more localized in reality generally.
Males also seem more likely to seek perfection and attainment in any manner
that is out there. A can remember a few quotes from some books where the
male yogi master or whatever type gurus say that it is easier to gain
enlightenment as a female, and they considered it fortunate to be born as a
female, since females were more easily able to attain high states of bhakti
and devotion. Also remember Lao Tzu said that the aspiring Taoist master of
the way, or whatever he called it should aspire to become internally female,
that this was the way of the universe and would lead to completion. The Yin
Yang model came from Taoism I believe, and Lao Tzu is one of the giants of
taoism, so that answers that.
