...but it seems that the full-on engagement of all this 'stuff' is
causing as much difficulty as the 'stuff'.

I lived with a bunch of campus crusade for Christers during college.
There were sixteen of us up in a tower, 4 of us weren't fundamental
Baptists. Guess what happened every single morning? Prayer circles.
Guess what happened every single Friday night? Girls' night in the
tower... watching the Princess Bride or some such (hehe... I could,
at one time, recite that screenplay word for word). Guess what I got
invited to? All of the above plus all of the Campus Crusade for
Christ events.

I maintained ambivalence, taking part socially now and then, even
attending their churches, prayer groups, and events out of
curiousity... this because they were good people I enjoyed on many
levels.

My roommate, on the other hand, was completely turned off by our
social environs, and was not at all circumspect in her expression of
such.

Guess who got the prayers? :) Me, now and then, how nice of them to
gift me. My roommate, at every single session. Funny how that works...

Ok, ready for my stoning.
