One other recommendation- _The Journey to No-Self_ by
Bernadette Roberts.

This book has, almost as a throwaway
end-of-the-book freebie, a treatment
of the passion of Christ that is worth the read alone for any
Christian.

This book got me through the time when I first
started experiencing ego dissolution that wasn't induced by trauma;
wonderful wonderful. It helps so much to find these markers on the
road showing that others have made the journey too...
