Christopher,

I have 39 digests of lists to read through from parents who have Asperger's
Disorder children just like my son. It took me seven years to learn enough to
know this is what label fits him best. We have to establish a baseline before
I can get into any spiritual aspects. If my son were a blank slate when he
was born, I know just about every microbit of sensory experience he has
absorbed. Discrediting what he learned from his father without discrediting
the man is no easy chore even with a child with no disabilities. The
methodology is to start with the simple concepts and work our way up to the
multifaceted ones, and quite frankly, I am trying to recreate, not work,
while on this list.

If you really want me to feel better, then let me buttchew you for about 30
minutes and I will feel a whole lot better. To be honest, though, now that
you actually took the step to ask permission, which is what you are suppose
to do before you begin disecting someone's persona... I might not be capable
of a buttchew... Damn!! Taking the fun away...

Asperger's...
We need the label. Otherwise, the teachers and staff will treat him like a
piece of dirt and my son will be suicidal or a zombie going toxic on meds...
like the other Asperger kids who each went through the same situation. We
need the label in order to get accommodations and services. We need the label
in order to be given the empathy instead of the prejudice for all the
behaviors that we dont understand. We need the label so everyone will offer
therapeutic strategies instead of punitive responses.

It has even made sense now that this is probably the same strife the father
has and why he cant do certain simple things. Let's hope the Aspergers-like
behaviors are learned instead of genetic, however... either way, the
definition will serve our needs in order to avoid medication.
