  you're not that good a mirror ..

there are a number of things you'll have to improve on
to remind me of her ..

You see .. I respect my mother
  for what she tried to do
  given her background
  and her experiences ..

and,
  I can be honest in thanking
  both her and my father
  for the grounding in life
  both of them gave me ..

inspite of the way
  I once saw our relationship
  before I understood ..

and I have resolved within myself
  and with them
  any blame I ever placed on them

Both of them died
  at peace
  cradled in my arms
