 Last week this came up in my addictions counseling class. The
empty mirror, shattered mirror and healthy mirror ideas are catching on
in the social services community. The point is to be able to recognize
the kind of mirror a client has... then with compassion, act as a
temporary surrogate parent to help repair the damage. This is quite a
responsibility... I hope I have it in me.

Inner city drug rehab centers have more shattered mirrors than a glass
factory in an earthquake... and big, "tough" guys who have their chips
proudly tattooed on there shoulders... but still shake in their boots as
their world crumbles around them. Would they want to hear a little white
punk like me tell them how to get it together?

Some will, some won't.... I've been in rehab many times myself, but I've
never been on the healer side of arrangement. I wish, I wish, I wish I
could tell the world how Kundalini blasted way my supposedly "incurable
disease of addiction," but I know it sounds like a lot of spiritual
mumbo jumbo to some people... and won't help me get a job.

I'm rambling.
