The one who did not survive in utero
is sometimes absorbed into the body
of the survivor ..

  not only "energetically"
  but also physically ...
  which manifests as a tumor in the side ..

  and the gender of the twin
  governs the side of the absorption

The one who died after birth
is often absorbed as a bipolar
into the survivor

Siamese twins are the result of the stronger
  twin trying to save the weaker one ...
