Subject: [K-list] Whew! Full Moon
From: Denise Lyon Anding

On 2001/05/09 13:48, Denise Lyon Anding posted thus to the K-list:

Hello, All,

Whew! It must truly be the Full Moon...

You are wearing me out! Ha! There is certainly not a dull person on THIS list! (Glad for that.) Just finished reading over five digests when there are usually only one per day. It's enough for this little girl snake to coil down into a nice dark quiet cave and rest...

OK, that was the ego. (She can be occasionally timid as she is sound sensitive...)

Now, the higher side of the Self wants to speak. (This my "better half"-tougher)

Thank you!!!!

You have all done me (and Miss Ego) a great service with all this fussing and cussing. Truly. No joke.

It makes me realize all my hard work on myself has been paying off. When you plug away at things (practice makes perfect) year after year, every moment, even in your sleep, it can be difficult to get perspective on your progress.

Reading all these digests has helped me to see how much I have succeeded in my quest to not over-react. As I am a person who comes from the heart first, with plenty of emotion and passion, it has been imperative for me to discipline my emotions and thoughts into "not patterning," for lack of a better term. Not patterning would be about not judging the situation upon first glance, no matter how tempted to jump in with an opinion before I have all the facts. The next part of my personal discipline has been that even after I have all the facts to still not judge nor criticize someone, something, even when my take on it all is essentially correct at that moment in time. Being correct is not about being wise. I prefer wisdom. It is the approach of "wait and see what develops" that may change your assumption from that first glance.

I kept wondering why I am not reacting to this issue or that on the list. Not even the famously roasted Christopher bothers me. Tell me again why many people are "fussed up" with him? Hey, sweet Christopher, just what did you do in your last few lifetimes to become this roasted in this lifetime? (Now everyone chant: Karma, Karma...)

And thank you, dearest sweet Michael Read (whatever country you are residing). This list needs your humor. There is a whole lot of seriousness going on here! And Michael has a good point, a recurring theme once you look past the crass manner it can sometimes be delivered. Please look past the surface of his delivered shock waves and see his real message. It appears to me that he desires very much to remind us all that life is worth living. That life is meant to be fun too! And try not to get so bogged down in the details that we forget to just live and create a wonderful life for ourselves.

On another note:

The word "surrender" has just never appealed to me. (There I go again with a hairball. Sorry, CleoCATtra.)
The background for why would fill a book and this needs to be a much shorter post. Already too long. Apologies to all.

So, instead of "surrender" I chose the word "alliance." For many years now, I have allied my everyday mind, the ego who has limitations and is finite, with my Eternal Mind, the Higher Self. To me, they are not two separate entities but One. This is how I've tried to look at things and work on myself. I am forever testing myself as the ultimate guinea pig in the spiritual sense. I've tried the idea of looking at ego as finite, the everyday mind who does the dishes, exercises, cooks...and that someday the ego as someone separate is no longer required as she eventually merges with the Eternal Mind who can function on any level at any time.

Gee, can it be I'm getting close to this "non-duality" thing? Don't know that much about it yet. Will burrow into my little snake hole and do some sneaky reconnaissance (exploratory survey of enemy territory from the American Webster's Dictionary).

Thank you,all you wonderful wild snarling beasties!

Kisses and lots of hugs all around,

Denise
