Hi k.r.ranjeesh,

>>That's why when Buddha and Shankara say the world is maya,
a mirage, it is difficult for us to understand. Because we
know only this world, we don't have any comparison. This is
the only reality we know. What are these people talking
about -- this is maya, illusion?<<

<>

I enjoyed your story until you started instructing me on how
terrible my life would be if I didn't agree with your view
of the world.

As to this maya thing. This illusion you write about. I
don't think it's all that complicated. The illusion of the
sensory perceived world is that when a name is attached to a
thing it separates it from it's unification with all the
things around it. Even the term "name" contains the seed
that informs one of what it grows up to be. Na-me. Not-me.
When one places a label on something they are saying that
this thing they labelled is different. It is not ME.

If what you have been calling your essence is me, and if
that is what god is, then labelling something Not Me is
casting that thing out of the unity that is god. In effect,
in the myth stories of Genesis, Adam and Eve were not cast
out. It was they who cast god out...on his proverbial ass,
as it were. Adam went around naming things, and Eve ate the
fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (the
brain), and between them both they created the illusion that
separation from the unity that is good has a bad side to
it...and they're right.

But that's neither here nor there...is IT?

Seeing the world as a concept or collage of ideas is the
illusion. It is by reversing the process that one is
disillusioned. When one ideates or conceptualizes the whole
as separate and splinters the world up into the this or that
and begets the illusion that such and such is so and so.

The equivalent of being cast out of the Garden of Eden is
refusing to reverse the process of changing the One into the
other, therefore not allowing diversity to be reunited. You
can't have one without the other. You can't have the other
without the One. IT is here, there, and every where.
