 I agree.. this sounds to me like a mental problem, some kind of
verbal dyslexia..you said melon, she heard lemon.. same letters, different
order. Same with the apartment..confusion about numbers. You read minimum 2
people, she heard more than 2 people. The tobacco.. location confusion.

    I dunno, I'm not a psychiatrist.. but this does not seem like a
communications problem that you can fix. She has some internal wiring that
is getting crossed. Having a diagnostic label might help your patience a
bit... and might help her, even more.. if it is hard to be around her,
imagine how much harder it must be, to be her. Get her some help.
