 A simple expression of gratitude
to your self .. for your self ..
  of Self - acceptance ..

that you are still alive ..

  that you supported you ...

then forget your big day
and all of the anniversaries of it ..

because, in holding on,
my experience was that it became
a yardstick by which I judged
  all subsequent experiences ..

something I used as a justification
for who I was .. and was becoming ..

and kept me tied to a past of comparison ..
 Now, for me,
there are memories of my big days ..
  but there are no feelings
  no emotions ..

and if I were to even dare to compare,
what I once thought was my "big day"

  pales into insignificance
   with each succeeding step
   along the path ...
This is your house cleaning ..

and the dreams of your sleep
will allow it to be real ..
This is the element of Bhakti ..
  the unconditional worship
of The drop that contains the Ocean ..

  the individual self's expression
   of the Universal Self
