Subject: [K-list] This is spinal tap... tap... tap...

On 2001/03/22 06:04, Murrkis posted thus to the K-list: Dear All,

I have been emboldened by Paul's request to write more, so...

As a group uniquely considerate of the spine, I thought you might
(perversely, in the least) enjoy the dream I had this morning:

The implied 'I' is my perspective, just below standing eye level near the
center of the bed.

Midday on a sleeper train, looking out the big window at flatland: a
Texas-style brush and scrub watercolor with a tightline horizon and the
sharp glint of waves on an ocean in the far distance. A woman stands in the
window, she is also watching the landscape. Though not apparently, she is
in some sort of seizure... static electrical solidly stiff. Though she is
absently quiet, the second woman, HER MOTHER (add your own sinister
music... with a nod to Christopher), is somewhat frantic. She moves quickly
around the foot of the bed, bends her grown daughter over her shoulder and
hoists her around in order to lay her down on the foot of the bed. The
mother pulls out two huge syringes (of the size you might use to baste a
turkey) and expresses concern over using them... apparently the last time
she used them, the injection caused acute pain. The daughter implies the go
ahead, so the mother lifts the daughter's shirt and lowers her waistband to
reveal a translucent lower torso. (Remember the invisible man toys with all
of the organs revealed?) The daughter's nervous system and spine appear
clearly within the implication of the "containing" skin "threshold". Red
and blue impulses flash along her nerves. The spine encases an absence... a
tube... and this is where the injection is headed. The fluid in the
syringes is a golden plasma... the tiny light-emitting nuclei of the cells
are apparent, playing a tightly packed game of bumper cars. The mother
adeptly inserts the needle through what I expected to be hard, resisting
bone... the needle slides (the word 'slither' just came to mind) right in.
She applies force to the plunger of the needle and shoots that shiny
(searingly cold!) stuff straight into the daughter's spinal cord. The
daughter is quite easy with this process... when it is finished, she
adjusts her clothing, stands up, and walks out of the room.

Heh, I just remembered that the train we were on was called "The Blues Train".

Heh, I also noticed just how many times 's' shows up in this post.
Actually, in most every one of my posts. Seems I'm simply oversensitive to
the S. ;)

In search of a kundalini yoga spinal set... time to shake out the vibrations,
Nina
