OBE - Order of the British Empire. Its a form of peerage, in this case it
would have been granted because of the contrabution your Grandfather made to
the War Effort. I don't know the scermishes he was involved in so I can't be
more presise than this.

The Highist Militery Honour is the Victoria Cross, followed by the George
Cross/Medal depending on weather you are a civilan or Militery. eg. Malta
GC - The whole island was awarded the civilian Medal for withstanding the
German attacks in WW2.
