v: this above is what isn't resonating - similar in the way of bad things
happening to good people.
I was in the back seat of a car driven by my friend, & another friend in the
front passenger seat, & another friend behind her. I had just lost my first born
son 5 mos. before, & was again pregnant with my little daughter.
So, neither my friend who was driving or the other gal in the front seat were
damaged, just us 2 gals in the back.
Meanwhile, it was a lovely summer day - driving conditions were splendid, a San
Juan County (Orcas Is.) truck was behind us, & a speeding lumber truck behind him.

We had come to the fork in the road where we were to turn left, only the
oncoming traffic was heavy, so we had to pause with the turn signal blinking.
The lumber truck was speeding so fast, that when we paused before making a
perfectly legal left turn, under ideal traffic conditions, the lumber truck
couldn't stop in time, & plowed into the San Juan County truck behind us - both of
whom flipped over about a 50 ft. embankment - & pushing our car about half a mile
forward.
The driver of the lumber truck had a 4 year old son, who had been just lying
casually in the place where truckers sleep, with no seat belt. He was crushed
under the lumber & died instantly.
The road was soon packed with emergency vehicles & neighbors & so on. I didn't
tell anyone that I had just lost a child, but they made sure to let us know that
this man's son was his pride & joy - & had turned his life around when he was
born.

SO - I have spent a long long time wondering about the why's & wherefores
involved in this situation, & I just don't agree that ALL these people who were in
more control of the vehicles & the actual activities were just innocent bystanders
& acting out my repressed suicidal tendencies, or from any other trauma previous.
It's like a "who dunnit" mystery novel, eh?

v: the odd thing was - just previous to this event, my friend who was driving had
pulled over & MADE us put on our seat belts, wouldn't drive another inch until we
put on our seatbelts, mentioning insurance companies not covering expenses
otherwise! And I am quite sure she did not intend to cause an accident either!
Just like the actual catalyst of the whole affair - the lumber truck driver -
would seem to be the one at fault, only he lost his beloved son. I am entirely
sure he did not mean to in any way - consciously or otherwise!

v: yes, but ...?

v: Yes, and amazingly enough, I was rear ended again 2 more times just shortly
after that, & was only driving the last time, which just happened to be Halloween
night! And I dealt with the whole traumatic affairs until the last one. I had been
ok & was driving 12 miles back & 12 miles forth to college on the freeway every
day & night. After the third time my composure fell apart, & i had to go find
Prozac!

v: yes I'm sure in my case my parents didn't want me - but I was 35 years old
before these rear-ending thingys began happening. And I know for a fact that the
friends in the front seat's parents doted on them! So you are saying - in effect -
that I caused everybody involved all this trauma with my dirty aura??? wild...I
just don't get it!

v: yeah, and I know that all the replies all day do make sense, each in their own
way. I think what you are saying is very true, but on a much more simplified
level. But - life is usually not so simple as we would like it to be for our
personal edifications...

v: erg.

v: thanx for the time & thought you took, anyway!
