Subject: [K-list] Is it possible to end hurt ?

Hi

Feeling hurt,.. a reoccuring theme, almost daily.
And so I wonder, why I've never looked into it deeply enough.
It seems to me that if the arising of this 'thing' would be an
impossibility, it would also make it impossible for many other forms
of suffering to take root, grow and cripple life.
Anyone willing to look at this 'thorn' ?

We've heard and perhaps also seen, the self-image as a cause of hurt.
We've heard that if no 'ego'/I then there would'nt be any hurt.
We've heard and done it perhaps succesfully to a certain
extent/depth, the looking into it/awareness of it.
Or one has tried to 'meditate' it away via various techniques, and
energy-work. And the distraction,.. the absorbtion of attention into
a 'high' does last a while.
And yet, 'it' is being reborn, again and again.
One might say that what is necessary is constant awareness..
But can you have awareness when drowning/frying in deep/intense
hurt ?

I do see that every moment, the thought structure fabricates stories
about 'me-me'.. I am like this/that, I am good because.. and somebody
drops in and tells me I am an ass.... or just ignores me, not even
looking at me (for reasons of dislike or whatever)as if I was non-
existant. And the 'thorn' instantly does its job.

Now the 'story of me', being recreated thru the day, taking different
forms... seems to be a very living business,.. it's not some
fixed/uniform hurt which once seen, (though it does bring a relief),
is uprooted for ever,.. is it ?

So that's about as far as I can go with this enquiry..
can you add, substract or bring a new observation to this ?

It might sound sentimental, but to me, if this 'number' could be
uprooted from our psychic, heaven might be just around the corner.
