Kundalini is definitely "catching". In fact, one of the main ways the
K masters teach is through Shaktipat awakening of the student's
latent
Kundalini (like a jump start from one car to another). A great book
on
the subject (among many) is available from the Siddha Yoga
organization, called The Sacred Power, by Swami Kripananda. It's

In the book, she deals with the different kinds and levels of K
awakening, with many Yogic scriptural references.
