it is a truism in new thought circles that we cant
empathize/sympathize with others unless we carry the same wounds.
some would call that 'mirroring'....
its an awful feeling when I am feeling awful and someone trys to hold

i know a gentle empath who can feel the suffering of the whole world
he also can feel the wonderful things that come from this world...
he once let me feel what he was feeling....all those voices crying
for attention...like standing in a giant cave hearing echo upon echo
pounding my heart with a physicality of feeling....
its a double edged sword....

patriarchal consciousness. She, I can identify with even more.
Ereshkegal, raped by gods and husbands, knows what it is like to be
the mother of the world and feel the sufferring of its children and
to be angry at them for doing so. This goes way beyond the simplistic
notion of mirroring.
Sometimes I think compassion is overated when a good screaming anger
fit cleans the soul like a hot brush fire clears a prairie and
prepares it for new growth and life.
Knowing and embracing my darkness adds a spicy depth to my light and
