North Hollywood? BINGO! I stash my acorns there, too! Back in June I
posted here about a woman who's been awakened through marathon running
(breathing, surrendering to pain? I don't what the catalyst is in
extreme sports, but she got there and stayed there) and organized the
local rock 'n roll stage at the subway opening.

We live in the little "No Ho Arts District" section. Nothing glamorous,
you know... just a forgotten simi-urban backwater of Tinseltown (things
are picking up, though). You must admit, it's a strange place to have an
awakening... but what city isn't? We have people on this list who live
in Manhattan. Sheesh! They must be made of steel.

My breakthrough happened in the desert and coming back to town a week
later was very bizarre. I was very sensitive to light and sound. People
I passed on the street seemed like beautiful, glowing children or very
dark and damaged. Perhaps you've also experience this.

Hmm... so now I know a total five awakened people here. Not a big amount
for an area of several million, but then this isn't Holland. People can
be very hedonistic and less spirit oriented here.

Including myself, that's six... enough to fit in an old VW bus...
We can grab our bongos and paint brushes and with Kerouacian
earnestness, meander our way up the coast to Canada...

Just kidding (although the north seems to lure us like a magnet... like
compass needles on a ship at sea), but life should never cease to be an
adventure.
