Like Uncle Fester of The Addams Family? This was a trick,
prestidigitation, right?

I think it's common enough for Outsiders to exhibit Kundalini
experiences. I don't know which comes first... Are the disenfranchised
open to K because they see outside the accepted paradigms of society, or
do those open to K <become> disenfranchised because they start displaying
unusual behavior?

I'm a gay man, but I came out late in life. The experience of feeling
unacceptable attractions, and being in denial of them for years, has, I'm
certain, opened me to awareness of K energy, and other mystical
experiences. Anyone else on-List willing to peep out of the closet as
gay or bisexual? So far, the only one to talk about a gay experience has
been Wim, who sees it as a "phase" he went through. (Precisely the term
I used for years when I was in denial!)

I also have a theory that most people drawn to Kundalini experiences
probably had a past life or three in India, or at least in a Hindu
society. I remember back in 1979, the first time I entered the Hindu
Temple in Flushing. I stood in front of the <murthi> of Lord Ganesha,
and lost consciousness for about 20 minutes. When I regained my senses,
I was still standing, but my face was wet with tears and I had the
feeling I had finally "come home."

My life since that experience has been a perpertual reminder and
reassurance that I was, in this and many other lifetimes, devoted to the
service of the Devi, in all Her myriad names and attributes: Kali,
Durga, Shakti, Kundalini, Saraswati, Uma, Tripurasundari, and on, and on,
and on...
