Hi, Folks!

Thanks for this forum! I just found my way here and am grateful for
the wealth of experience and caring attitude here.

I was looking back at some of the prior postings to get a feel of
what goes on and discovered a note from Bob Vincent about "Kundalini
Couples" which hit home for me.

Bob, my background is similar to yours in that I also began TM early
in my life (age 17) and have never looked back as far as the
awakening process is concerned. (Not that I'm particularly awake,
mind
you...) My first K experience happened sometime in 1969, I think
(though as Robin Williams said, If you can remember the 60's, you
weren't really there...). I was chanting OM to the Moody Blues song
and gazing at the Shri Yantra on their album cover when I suddenly
felt a WHOOSH and my whole awareness rose to the crown of my head. I
thought, Great, I'm going to leave my body, and then fell back to my
ordinary state!

About a year later I was initiated into TM, but my overall experience
of it at that time was more one of expansion, rather than energy.
Later experiences have led me to believe that there are different
types of Shakti at work, Kundalini Shakti being only one of them.

Your comment: "Also, to the K couple who is having trouble sleeping,
you might try separate bedrooms, except when you are ready for
something other than rest. Not a popular view, I'm sure, but that is
how it is for K couples. That's how it is here in our house. In the
end, K is not a team sport. It is just you and your divine process
unfolding inside. It is hard to live it in close proximity with
another K person, particularly while resting. Of course, we'd all
like
to have our cake and eat it too, so give it your best shot. The more
K you have the more obvious it will become what needs to be done."

For the last five years, my wife and I have had to sleep separately,
though her experience is different from mine. I find that there's
just too much energy to be able to sleep. Also, it tends to build up
in the bed, similar to the experience of building meditation energy
in
one space. I've had to flip the mattress and eventually change
beds...and, as a rule, I don't meditate in bed for that reason.
Stress
definitely plays a part in the equation, and there's an interesting
fine line where too much Shakti will cause one's karma to "fructify"
too quickly, causing upheavals in life in many ways, financial and
otherwise, which can add to the stress.

In general, I've found some great resources in Pranic Healing and
Arhatic Yoga, taught by Master Choa Kok Sui (see their website
www.pranichealing.org I think...)and Siddha Yoga (a very powerful
Kundalini path which emphasises Shaktipat initiation and a living
Siddha (fully realized) Guru. The Pranic and Arhatic teachings are a
Godsend, in my opinion for anyone on an accelerated path, given the
amount of stuff that comes up in all areas of life. There is a
clear understanding of Kundalini Syndrome and prescriptions for the
various problems that can arise.

The Siddha Yoga regular satsangs and ashrams are great. Their monthly
correspondence course is fantastic(www.syda.org). Unlike my
experience of 20 years of TM, as a teacher for most of that time,
these other groups are inclusive of anyone and have a tolerant
attitude for people trying to find and use whatever resources that
will help. Perhaps things are changing there by now.

Anyway, I look forward to hanging out here on occasion, and wish you
all the best on your journey!

PS- I'll check those URL's and post any changes separately. I'm afraid
I might lose this message again if I click "Back" on my browser...Did
I do something wrong there? I don't see a place to save drafts here...
