Our bodies *are* liquid crystals. We have crystals in solution all
the time. They are called electrolytes. Our blood is filled with
them.
They have to be in balance within a very narrow margin or we die.
They help maintain the electrical charge within the body. Our heart
would not beat without them or we would not be able to transmit nerve
impulse as an example.

I remember reading a reference somewhere about "manis", which are gem like
crystals, which are found at the cremation sites of yogis, in the skull
area. I also remember reading elsewhere that yogis are usually cast into
rivers , sans cremation, but not all of them, only the more advanced types.I
don't have the exact references, though.
