Dear Bob, List,

Well, I suspect one of the "triggers" to my awakening (aside from Hatha Yoga)
was close proximity to someone who had strong shakti energy. What's odd, is
the energy transmission was unintentional on his part, and my experiences
seem much more intense than his.

I personally am eternally grateful to him for his part in this, despite the
fact that it has disrupted my life considerably. :))

Bob: But do we as potential shaktipat
transmitters have the right to make that choice for someone else? I
think not. Satsang, darshan and the wonderful vibrating places we
create? Yes, absolutely. Shaktipat? Better be careful. It is someone
else's life we are energizing, and the karma shall be ours as much as
theirs. .

Hillary: While I agree with this, in one sense, I wonder... If we believe
that the more awakened people the better, perhaps it doesn't matter if we
have easy awakenings or not--perhaps it's just the energy that is unleashed
that is important. This is, of course, easy for *me* to say since I've had
an easy time of it. I do think that when shaktipat happens, it happens for a
reason, and it is immaterial "how" we become activated. It is "we" who
decide how it plays out, not the person who does the shaktipat. I think
he/she is simply doing his "job" in activating those who are capable of
*being* activated at this time. It is up to us, to prepare the way for this
energy. Certainly I would caution people to strengthen their body as much as
possible to allow for easier flow, if they are thinking about receiving
Shaktipat.

Bob: How do they develop
the trust and surrender after the fact? Probably the same way
spontaneous awakenings do, huh? A little bit at a time, a day at a
time. Well, do you see what I am getting at? I think rewards and
risks both need to be taken into account by any would be shaktipat
transmitters.

Hillary Yeah! :)) For those of us who were not "searching" and who don't
choose to have teachers, we simply have to take little by little, with a huge
dose of faith that it is all in our best interest.

Love, Hillary
