Hello Wim,

Thank you for your last few notes which contain a wealth of
information and inspiration.

I am relatively new around here, having just returned to cyber
satsang communities after some 5 years of "cooling off" since my K
awakening and aftermath in the late 1980s and early 90s. There is a
brief history of the overall journey on my fledgling web site at:

http://hometown.aol.com/bobvincent

If you ever put your story up on a web site, please let me know. I'd
like to read more.

Of particular interest to me was your description of the relation
between inner dynamics and outer study, and the evolution of the
body/mind/kundalini (I also call it the arising of whole body
conductivity), including the occurance of yogic techniques out of the
blue. In many cases my own experience was like this, where the study
aspect confirmed and added the finer points to things that already
were under way in me. In this sense the outer is only a reflection of
inner processes which go on as a natural course of evolution. When a
particular piece is needed, the information always comes; a
manifestation of the old maxim, "When the student is ready, the
teacher appears." There is no question for me that the "guru" is
inside (as profound living silence), and all else dances to that
reality.

My fairly peaceful practice of deep meditation of some 15 years led
to a whirlwind when I realised that I had to take the leap by giving
in to impulses coming on strong in the mid 80s. I then entered into
kumbaka practices, siddhasana, and a broad assortment of postures,
bandhas, mudras and so on, some of it quite unconventional.
Introductory descriptions of some of this are contained in recent
posts I made to the "kundalini sex" list here on egroups. Back then,
I studied madly to keep up with it all, and to optimize it as best I
could. In the end (or should I say the beginning?) it worked, and my
K exploded onto the scene through a series of events around 1987.

From there I went through the classic, "What do I do with this?"
journey of learning to accept and live with her, getting incinerated
all the while. There were many visions, experiences and new
discoveries about my inner ecstatic realms- the rise of whole body
ecstatic conductivity. Wonderful! For years this went on, and I ended
up tempering my practices, backing off to less extreme versions of
sambhavi, kechari, kumbaka, siddasana and so on, so I could continue
to make a living and support the family. My practice became one of
learning the ways to live in the world with an active K. I ended up
in a slow burn which enabled me to keep one foot in each of two
worlds- the spiritual and the work-a-day, and that has been my mode
since the early 90s. But now that is changing again.

Well, the 3 kids are grown up, I am financially stable in a semi-
retired mode and it appears it is time to let her loose to a greater
degree than I have in recent years.

There seems to be no limit for me in maximizing the K experience. A
question I ask of you is, are there practical means you know of for
maximizing the growth rate while maintaining body and mind in healthy
functioning capacity? In other words, without doing unnecessary
damage. I come from good dutch stock also (parents were from
Rotterdam, I was born in U.S. and am in Florida), so I am able to
handle quite a lot. But "strong" isn't all that is needed, I
think. "Smart" is good too, so any suggestions for maintaining
maximum velocity are welcome. I know that the best course is probably
to do what comes naturally and enjoy the ride, as the journey will
take its natural course as it always has in the past. Even so, any
suggestions will be appreciated. Who knows how and where the inner
guru will speak on the outside? It must always be encouraged with the
word, "Yes!"

Oh, by the way, since reading your notes, I have found myself
intensifying my practices again. I am back in full blown (pharengeal)
kechari for the first time in 8 years, and am beginning to roar
again. I don't know whether to thank you or blame you, Wim. :-)

But seriously, thanks for being here, and to you too Harsha for all
you give... I am tasting your particular brand of K wisdom for the
first time and am enjoying it...

Obviously, there are many more things we can talk about. My
scholarship is a bit rusty, but the experiences remain
forever "current" - pun intended.

Bob
