Hi everyone,

In the thros of my most intense kundalini experiences back in the
1980s, poetry of various kinds became very appealing to me, both
reading it and writing it. I don't know why exactly. Perhaps because
what kundalini is seems clearer between the lines than in them.
Somewhere in the heart is she known best, that unfathomable realm
where unfathomable divinity can be touched.

It is a contradiction that so much in-your-face blazing power could
be so elusive, so subtle, but so it is with matters spiritual.
Paradox!

It is with the fine brush of poetry that she can be seen in the
mirror of the heart. It can be good therapy for those who are in the
process of surrendering to her. And perhaps a way to dialog directly
with her.

Several examples of kundalini poetry follow. If anyone wants to add
some, original or quoted, that would be wonderful.

Best wishes,
Bob

From St John of the Cross, the middle-ages christian saint who came
up with the phrase 'dark night of the soul.':

'O Living flame of love
That tenderly wounds my soul
In its deepest center
Since now You are not oppressive
Now consummate!
If it be Your will
Tear through the veil of this sweet encounter!

O sweet cautery
O delightful wound
O gentle hand
O gentle touch
That tastes of eternal life
And pays every debt
In killing You changed death to life

O lamps of fire
In whose splendors
The deep caverns of feeling
Once obscure and blind
Now give forth, so rarely, so exquisitely
Both warmth and light to the Beloved

How gently and lovingly
You wake in my heart
Where in secret You dwell alone
And in Your sweet breathing
Filled with good and glory
How tenderly You swell my heart with love'

Here is a verse from Rumi, the great 12-13th century Sufi mystic:

'When your love reaches the core
Earth-heavals and bright eruptions spew in the air
The universe becomes one spiritual thing
That simple love mixing with spirit'

Here is one of mine from the late 1980s:

'Listen to the Love
Surging through me now
Rising high above
Every rainy cloud
Sweetest rainbow light
Tickles on my nerves
Cosmic show delight
The holy sound is heard
And I in earthly frame
Two worlds do I see
One which clutches names
The other inside free
So I listen to the Love
A thrill beyond all words
An endless sea above
In Love that's finally heard'
