That is pathetic! How could you start from one thing - borrowing the notion
of Kundalini from a long spiritual tradition of India and Yoga - and come up
with a completely reversed thing like "meditation is not always good for
people with Kundalini awakening ..." ?

What l did was make a statement based upon my personal experience as well
as the experiences of others l've known both on and off this list. l stated
in a previous post that for many years ( approximately 8 ) meditation caused
severe head pain and nausea for me and other serious problems for others
undergoing k.
l've had my share of arguments on this list,
and l've made statements l've later regretted, but l've never insulted
anyone by denying his or her own personal experiences with kundalini, which
is what you just did in no small way by describing my comments as pathetic,
no less. Even with all the list wars l've observed here, l don't recall
anyone using the word "pathetic" to describe someone's feelings based
directly on their experiences with k.

l've read works by all of the spiritual masters whom you've taken the
trouble to quote. lt is one thing to say in a book that meditation is
wonderful. lt is quite a different thing to tell someone to meditate when it
is obviously increasing that person's suffering. lt is safe to say that these
statements are not likely being written with each person who is in an extreme
stage of k difficulty in mind.
lt is also rather arrogant to
lecture someone on the benefits of meditation when you don't know the
background of that person. Prior to my k awakening in 92 l'd been on the
spiritual path and had been practicing vipassana meditation for many years,
including extensive experience in lndia and other asian countries. l was an
experienced meditator and had developed very strong concentration, which is
what precipitated the k awakening in the first place.

When my headaches began -- about 7 mos after k awakened -- l
consulted eminent masters in various traditions from all over the world. As
is always the case with k, l got a variety of recommendations, but most told
me to stop meditating immediately. The Tibetan lamas l spoke to ( which
included Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche, Lama Surya Das and others who are well
known ) were unanimous in urging me to stop meditating.

l wasn't ready to stop. My meditation practice
was too important to me -- l couldn't bear the idea of not meditating. And l
soon met a swami l loved and who l thought could help and continued
meditating after receiving his blessing and shaktipat. The results were
disastrous, leading to a complete collapse of my health, from which l still
have not fully recovered 5 yrs later.
l
have long looked to the books and sayings of the masters for inspiration, but
l think most people who have had a difficult and full spiritual journey,
whether it involved kundalini or not, have at some time found themselves
at a point at which no saying by any spiritual master was the answer for them
-- a point at which their experience didn't match any they'd read about in
any book -- a point beyond which nothing in a book, but only personal courage
and grace offered deliverance.
