It seems that most of the zen material is Japanese in orientation, thus to  
not further complicate the issue I stopped there.  I believe the word you are  
looking for is 'phonetic' - ie sounds like.  The founder of akido is  
attributed with what can only be called psychic abilities, which fits with  
your mention of 'miracles'.  It appears that many teachers perform them, but  
the better ones are more discreet about it <g>.
