This is, I guess, a stylistic difference between Vajrayana and Zen.
Vajrayana revels in the complex iconography and "stuff-ness" of
existance, while Zen is more concerned with the emptiness behind
existance. Or am I wrong?
----------
zen is unconcerned
emptiness, fullness only names
i know nothing
and still i speak?

i should be throttled
better it would be
to cut off my own tongue
than to blaspheme the dharma.

vajarayna, blended
hinduism, bon, shamans
it too is concerned
what would tara think?

and zen revels
simplicity, foolishness
playing with children
i hear the bell toll.
