l'm involved in an art cinema where l live and as a result am able to check
out films l wouldn't ordinarily pay to see. Such was the case with a film
we're currently running, "Groove", which is about some all night party (
called a Rave, l believe) in San Francisco in which booze, drugs, hip music
and sex are on display.
Cut to a scene in which a lovely
young lass is lying prone when a hip guy with orange hair and the usual body
piercings, looking to make a play for her, comes over and starts to give her
a massage. After a minute or so, he observes," You're really tight -- man,
your kundalini energy is all fucked up." After which she promptly sits up
and says, " Buzz off asshole!" After he saunters lamely away she turns to a
friend and fumes, " Can you believe that creep? HEY, my chakras are great! "

At which point my loud cackle resounded thru the otherwise silent
auditorium and frowning young faces looked over at me. l figured to hell with
them, after what l've been thru, l'm entitled to this. (Sigh) ... what would
we do without Hollywood to give relevancy to the spiritual questions of our
time ...
