Just a couple of comments to add to David's post.  I suspect that things  
don't change dramatically except perhaps, years later when we are least  
expecting it.  (Judging from Gopi Krishna's experience and a few others.)  I  
don't think it ever goes away, but there is an almost imperceptible  
unfolding.  I think we simply gradually become aware that we *ARE* awake.
