Dear Friends,
People do still attempt this (head drilling). The people who do so, seem
happy with the results. I should think this is the relief of not killing
themselves. :-)
There are people who felt that self-castration was a means to deal with
sexuality - the castrati in Russia for example.
If you tell people that they must kill themselves to be rescued by aliens -
they will go for it.
The so called 'genuine esoteric teachings' are often based on a similar form
of fiction. For example the failed mystic Aliester Crowley never achieved
anything but psychic party tricks and yet his 'esoteric science' is followed
by many hopefuls.
They need his teachings as much as they need a hole in the head . . .
However each must follow falsity in order to know its nature . . .
Interestingly genuine magicians are never angered by any aspertions cast on
their capacities. For example as a practicing alchemist I have never
achieved anything (long may it continue).
So what of the genuine?
Well if a teaching makes us more compassionate and kind. If a teaching
empowers us and others. If a teaching creates a balance within us, making
our inner life deeper and richer would we follow it?
In genuine spirituality there is no need for the hidden because the person
becomes the revelation. The more normal and ordinary they become and the
more subtle their capacity to help.

Be Well
