Chill, Mia.. everything has it's duality. Paul is a Dominant
personality type, that means he won't surrender till he has no other
option, and David is just part of the box that will force Paul to evolve
enough to deal with his illness on a spiritual level instead of a
medical-physical one.
Cancer is playing the role of Boogeyman, and the departure of his
physical beloved opens the path to closer relationship with his inner
Beloved.. who takes the form of a death Goddess. Dan Winter one wrote of
the path to rebirth as "navigating between sex and death to reach the
center", and it was resonant, altho I suspect I understand it better than
he does.. :) However, Dan's understaning of how the Grail vibration kicks
cancer's butt is better than my own, even tho for me the grail is permanent
and he has not attained that, yet..

  Prostrate cancer is a disease related to sexuality.. and death... but it
won't be physical death, but ego-death and self-realization that is the
result of this present conflux of events. Everything is happening as it
should.

  Any how, Paul did not ask for sympathy, and David's response respected
that. What need caused you to decide to be his champion?
