Well, ha ha, l'm not surprised someone asked this... it's a natural
question, as the first time l heard this statement from a zen gardner the
question registered with me too. l see it as a matter of perspective. The zen
gardner is approaching and attempting to represent nature as an aesthetic
ideal in order to distill its essence. ln reality all of nature doesn't
always live up to this ideal, doesn't always represent this essence. Not
everyone would see it this way, but this is the gardner's perspective and
purpose. Thanx for asking. jerry
